Political humor.

Trump and Pelosi Go Fishing
The President and the head of the Democrat Party, Nancy Pelosi, are arguing extensively over allowing immigrants into our country. Nancy, of course, wants free access to everyone who wants  to come in, while Donald wants us to secure our borders and ensure only the right people come in.
Instead of going to a costly, time-consuming nationwide vote on the matter, they agree to a 3-day ice fishing contest to settle the issue.
Whoever catches the most fish at the end of the 3 days will have his or her process implemented.
The two decide that a remote frozen lake in northern Wisconsin would be the ideal place. No observers on the fishing grounds, but both would need to have their catches verified and counted each night at 5 PM so they use a neutral park ranger station.
After Day 1, Trump returns to the station with a total of 10 fish, while Pelosi comes back with nothing.
Day 2 finishes and Trump catches 20 fish, but Pelosi once again comes back with nothing..
That night, Pelosi and her liberal cronies get together and accuse Trump of being a “low-life, cheating piece of scum.”  Instead of fishing on Day 3, they are going to follow Trump and to spy on him and figure out how he is cheating.
Day 3 finishes up and Trump has had an incredible day, adding 40 more to his total.
That night, Pelosi and her Democratic cohorts get together for the full report on how Donald was cheating.
Pelosi stands up to give her report and says, “You are not going to believe this. Trump is cheating because he's cutting holes in the ice.”
And this, my friends, tells you the difference between a businessman and a career government politician.

Fascist City Council of Boulder Colorado wants to disarm populace.

We Will Not Comply – Boulder Colorado Gun Owners Launch Civil Disobedience

As we reported back in May, Boulder, Colorado didn’t bother to put their gun ban legislation on the ballot. They simply voted it in against many in their own community. But now, in the new year, there are more weapons that have not been turned in, than those that were given back. Only 342 semi-automatic rifles were turned in for “certification” (aka “registration).  And Boulder has a large gun owner community. Lawsuits against the ordinance have been filed.
The gun owner community isn’t taking it lying down, either.  Though many are quietly refusing to turn in their weapons, some of the residents have begun a “We will not comply” movement meant to openly challenge authorities. A business owner had “We will not comply” stickers and T-shirts printed up that are now appearing on cars, rifle bags, and other items.
The ordinance, approved by the city council unanimously, banned the possession and sale of “assault weapons,” defined as semiautomatic rifles with a pistol grip, folding stock, or ability to accept a detachable magazine. Semiautomatic pistols and shotguns are also included.
Current owners were given until the end of the year to choose one of two options: Get rid of their semiautomatics by moving them out of town, disabling them, or turning them over to police — or apply for a certificate with the Boulder Police Department, a process that includes a firearm inspection, background check and $20 fee.
Judging by the numbers, however, most Boulder firearms owners have chosen to do none of the above, albeit quietly.
We wrote previously about Jon Caldara, who was opposed to the ban from the beginning. He openly refuses to comply.
“The question was, do I do this publicly or do it privately, and I’ve chosen to do it publicly because somebody has to. There will be thousands of people in Boulder living in the shadows, worried about somebody turning them in.
In this town that spouts tolerance for alternative lifestyles, that actually puts posters all over its buildings and schools about it, when it comes to a lifestyle they don’t like, there is no tolerance. So for me, this all works around the word tolerance. And tolerance means tolerating things you dislike, that you find scary.
Without a doubt, there are more than 342. I think potentially there are thousands.” Jon Caldara
Mr. Caldara has a great deal to lose by not complying openly- he has two children, one of whom needs 24 hour care. And he is afraid, but he believes someone has to do it.
Lesley Hollywood, president of “Rally for Our Rights”, a Colorado gun group, said that the number of 342 is so low that it could just be a handful of residents “certifying” several weapons. But the deadline to do that was December 31, so whoever is left over now is automatically in violation of the ordinance.
The city claims they are not going door to door to find violators. Good thing. That could be exceedingly dangerous for everyone.

Socialism always fails. Why?

The answer is really simple. In capitalism the government does not have the power to make you do things that lose money. Socialism, on the other hand, does not have this limitation. Under socialism people are forced to do things that cost more money than it brings in. So, in a capitalist environment the economy makes products that generate money (income). In a socialist economy there is practically no mechanism to stop activities that lose money. You end up with less income.

The proof of this is irrefutable. Socialism was a failure in the French revolution. It failed in Eastern Europe, in Russia, in China and in Africa. It is a failure in South America. It took the most prosperous country of Venezuela and made it into a basket case in ten short years.

Why do the young Socialists like Ocasio-Cortez think that it will be different in the US? Because they make one flawed assumption that can lead them and us to ruin. The democratic socialists assume that individuals who are productive will continue producing income/wealth at the same rate even if they are taxed at a rate of 70%.

But socialists not merely discourage people from making profit (i.e. taxable income), they also encourage economic activity that wastes money(i.e. activity that needs to be paid for and yields no income). For example, the "green economy" would destroy our current power plants and require at least $5Trillion to replace. Retrofitting buildings and heating/air conditioning units would cost another $10T. Add to this the proposed cost of "free" Medicare, and free college education would drive the cost to 30-40 Trillion dollars. What Ocasio-Cortez does not realize is that 10 Trillion here and 5 Trillion there will eventually add up to real money. Where will the money come from? Since, they discourage economic activity that generates taxable income there is only one source: printing money. How well did that work out? It ruined countries.

And in the financial world.

Several forces are operating currently.

The fear of a Bear Market grows. This is shown by the drop in stock prices and increased shorting of bonds. Also, gold had risen to storm the level of 1,300.

Contrarian interests fought back. They believe that the FED (seeing the near panic in the financial markets) will stop raising interest rates and may even start lowering them again. This created a short squeeze in bond prices (traders no longer think interest rates will keep rising which is good for bond holders so shorts are being covered).

The forecast for gold is: If gold breaks through 1,300, it will rally to 1,370. If 1,370 is breached then gold will advance to 1,450. Should that be breached then there will be a gold spike to $2,000.

Response of big banks. Huge number of paper gold contracts sold. This dropped prices and traders were forced to sell. Gold prices then were hit again this morning. Other precious metals are doing fine.

And that is where it is today.

How is Mr Romney wrong? 3. Domestic policies.

Mr Romney admits that Pres Trump acted on matters that Republicans long wanted changed: "It is not that all of the president's policies have been misguided. He was right to align U.S. corporate taxes with those of global competitors, to strip out excessive regulations, to crack down on China's unfair trade practices, to reform criminal justice and to appoint conservative judges. These are policies mainstream Republicans have promoted for years. But policies and appointments are only a part of a presidency."

So, what is wrong Mr Romney? What is wrong is that Republicans failed to do what they believe in and Mr Trump did. And you, Sir, did not even get to first base and botched your campaign.

So, what is wrong Mr Romney? He goes on with his complaint: "But policies and appointments are only a part of a presidency.
To a great degree, a presidency shapes the public character of the nation. A president should unite us and inspire us to follow "our better angels." A president should demonstrate the essential qualities of honesty and integrity, and elevate the national discourse with comity and mutual respect. As a nation, we have been blessed with presidents who have called on the greatness of the American spirit. With the nation so divided, resentful and angry, presidential leadership in qualities of character is indispensable. And it is in this province where the incumbent's shortfall has been most glaring."

Tsk, tsk Mr Romney. From the first day that Mr Trump won the Presidency, the Democrats were out to destroy his government. They called subtly for resistance to him and his policies, some even called for his assassination. Holdovers from the previous (Demomocrat) administration spied on his campaign and appointed a Special Counsel to hound his associates and try to trap them; all with the idea of trying to imply that he was elected with Russian interference. In fact, 62% of Democrats believe that the Russians changed the votes! Now the Democrats  refuse to compromise with him and even forced him to shut down the government, because he wants an effective barrier to stop illegal migration. They are engaging in massive lawbreaking by refusing to co-operate with ICE in apprehending even illegal aliens who are criminals. You can not unite with such people and such policies!

Open your eyes Mr Romney! You are allying with the wrong people, the wrong ideas. They will lionize you while you are hurting the GOP but if you run for President they will crush you like the pitiful cucaracca you are.

How is Mr Romney wrong? 2. On the departure of Trump's generals.

Here is what Mr Romney wrote: "

The Trump presidency made a deep descent in December. The departures of Defense Secretary Jim Mattis and White House Chief of Staff John Kelly, the appointment of senior persons of lesser experience, the abandonment of allies who fight beside us, and the president's thoughtless claim that America has long been a "sucker" in world affairs all defined his presidency down."

Pres Trump has ended our involvement is Syria as far as keeping troops there. Gen Mattis disagreed and so he handed in his resignation. The rebels fighting the Assad regime were allied with Al Qaeda and ISIS. The idea that we are abandoning allies who fight beside us is preposterous. The US did not turn its back on allies, but is no longer supporting our enemies. Iran is pulling back from Syria as that regime is under pressure and its survival is in question. Yes, the US had been a sucker in world affairs. We give money to countries who then turn around and do not support us.

As for General Kelly, his mode of dealing with the White house  and people who work there turned out to be unsatisfactory. It is a very difficult job.

How is Mr Romney wrong? Let me count the ways. 1. Foreign policy.

Mt Romney writes:"This [domestic problems] comes at a very unfortunate time. Several allies in Europe are experiencing political upheaval. Several former Soviet satellite states are rethinking their commitment to democracy. Some Asian nations, such as the Philippines, lean increasingly toward China, which advances to rival our economy and our military. The alternative to U.S. world leadership offered by China and Russia is autocratic, corrupt and brutal.
The world needs American leadership, and it is in America's interest to provide it. A world led by authoritarian regimes is a world - and an America - with less prosperity, less freedom, less peace."
You are wrong Mr Romney. Former Soviet satellites are NOT rethinking their commitment to democracy. What they reject is the dictates of a globalist elite that wants to erase their national character and religious sentiments. Yes, the ideas of politicians like Mr Macron are being rejected. Like the idea that Europe must have a unified army to fight off Russia, China and the US. European  peoples have been distinct natioalities longer than the United States and they want to retain their nationalities. Mr Trump insists that they pay for their own defense.
