AOC is an argument against democracy.

With the recent election of Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez from Brooklyn , NY we have reached a new low.   The bar is now so low that it lies on the floor.  This woman is profoundly, agonizingly and staggeringly stupid.  

  In a recent interview Ocasio-Cortez was unaware of the three branches of government . She Thought that there were three "chambers of government: the presidency, the Senate and the House."   She further stated that the Pentagon had lost track   of $21 trillion of transactions from 1998 to 2015 evidently unaware that the total spending for defense in those years was $9 trillion. That is like one losing track of three dogs when you only have one!!!

 Her knowledge, or rather lack thereof, of foreign affairs is even more staggering.  In an interview on PBS's "Firing Line" Ms. O-C was unaware that there was a country in the   Middle East called Israel and and   territory   named Palestine.

She said and I quote "If Mr. Israel, I think it is his last name but it may be his given name, wants to help build world peace he will stop with the settle-ments, and by that we mean settlementing (yes she said "settlementing") for anything less than a livable minimum wage."The PBS host gently pointed out that Israel was not a fellow's name but a Middle Eastern Country and settlement referred to homes built in disputed territory. 

The US Constitution requires that a member of Congress be at least 25 years old, a citizen for more than 7 years and live in the state from  where he/she was elected.  

Clearly there is no requirement that a member have even a vague knowledge of the institutions of government nor be able to pass a 4th grade civics test. 

Winston Churchill said that the greatest argument against democracy is a five minute conversation with the average voter.
