Instant Pot Pho Ga (Vietnamese chicken soup)

Introduction.
America has been involved in a lot of wars. American soldiers came home with foreign-born brides who brought new foods to these shores. One of these foods was the Pho soup that came from Vietnam. Considering that due to the betrayal of America's Left we lost5 50,000 casualties in the Vietnam war, ending up with a bowl of soup might be considered a poor return. But, at least we have that.

There is an issue of how to pronounce the name of the soup. I have heard it pronounced as 'pho' in photograph. But, a SE Asian lady pronounced it as 'pha'.

The 5 steps of making Pho.:

1. Preparation of the broth;
2. Preparation of the rice noodles(medium bahn pho - white rice noodles- is recommended)
3. Preparation of the meat;
4. Preparation of the side platter used to flavor the mix;
5. Assembly.

Bowls to serve Pho:

Traditional bowls hold 39 ounces and can be made of ceramic.
https://www.amazon.com/Cameo-Authentic-Ceramic-Soup-Bowls/dp/B00BF5OBNG
But, you can use large soup bowls or pasta bowls.

Making the broth and cooking the meat:

Ingredients.
3-4 lbs whole chicken or 3.5 lb chicken legs + thighs
2 medium onions, peeled and halved
3 tsp fresh ginger strips
1 garlic clove, crushed
2 tsp brown sugar
4 cloves
1/2 cinnamon stick
1 TBSP coriander seed or 1 t ground coriander
2 TBSP fish sauce
8 cups cold water
1/2 tsp salt + more to taste when broth done
2 TBSP veg oil

Preparation
1. Toast spices. Medium heat (push SAUTE button on Instapot). When smell fragrance transfer spices to a bowl
2. When the pot says HOT pour in the oil and place halved onions flat side down in pot with the ginger pieces. Allow onions to char without moving them for about 5 minutes
3. At 4 minute mark add the garlic
4. After the charring (5 min) add 1/2 cup cold water and deglaze (scrape off) the burnt onion on the bottom of the pot
5. Add in the rest of the ingredients including the chicken and 4 cups of cold water
6. Close the pot and pressure cook for 10 minutes then do a natural release for 20 min

DURING THE PRESSURE COOKING AND THE RELEASE PREPARE THE NOODLES, THE GARNISHES AND TYHE HERB PLATTER.

7. Transfer the chicken pieces to cold water.
8. Strain the chicken broth with a fine mesh and discard all but the broth. Add salt to taste.

Preparing the garnishes.

1/2 small onion sliced. Keep in iced water  for 15 minutes or so.
fresh cilantro, the leafy part
2 stalks of green onion, finely chopped
touch of freshly ground black pepper
OPTIONAL: sliced hard-boiled egg

Preparing the herb platter

Bean sprouts (about a handful per person)
1 lime, cut into 6 wedges
Optional
Mint
Thai basil
Hoisin sauce

Preparing the chicken

Once the chicken cooled, use a couple of forks to take off small pieces. Store till serving

Preparing the noodles (the Pho Ga)

Bring to boil about 2 cups of lightly salted water.
Add the white rice noodles and let steep for 10 minutes.

SERVING

In your bowl add the meat, the garnishes, the noodles and boiling broth. Use the flavoring sparingly.
Enjoy.
While you are enjoying this dish, thank our soldiers whose sacrifice was negated by the Press, the College Professors and the demonstrators and the Democrats.

DNC data were copied not hacked - Rusisan activity is faked.

  • Intel Vets Challenge ‘Russia Hack’ Evidence

In a memo to President Trump, a group of former U.S. intelligence officers, including NSA specialists, cite new forensic studies to challenge the claim of the key Jan. 6 “assessment” that Russia “hacked” Democratic emails last year.

    MEMORANDUM FOR: The President
FROM: Veteran Intelligence Professionals for Sanity (VIPS)
SUBJECT: Was the “Russian Hack” an Inside Job?
    Executive Summary
Forensic studies of “Russian hacking” into Democratic National Committee computers last year reveal that on July 5, 2016, data was leaked (not hacked) by a person with physical access to DNC computers, and then doctored to incriminate Russia.
After examining metadata from the “Guccifer 2.0” July 5, 2016 intrusion into the DNC server, independent cyber investigators have concluded that an insider copied DNC data onto an external storage device, and that “telltale signs” implicating Russia were then inserted.
Key among the findings of the independent forensic investigations is the conclusion that the DNC data was copied onto a storage device at a speed that far exceeds an Internet capability for a remote hack. Of equal importance, the forensics show that the copying and doctoring were performed on the East coast of the U.S. Thus far, mainstream media have ignored the findings of these independent studies [see here and here].
Independent analyst Skip Folden, a retired IBM Program Manager for Information Technology US, who examined the recent forensic findings, is a co-author of this Memorandum. He has drafted a more detailed technical report titled “Cyber-Forensic Investigation of ‘Russian Hack’ and Missing Intelligence Community Disclaimers,” and sent it to the offices of the Special Counsel and the Attorney General. VIPS member William Binney, a former Technical Director at the National Security Agency, and other senior NSA “alumni” in VIPS attest to the professionalism of the independent forensic findings.
The recent forensic studies fill in a critical gap. Why the FBI neglected to perform any independent forensics on the original “Guccifer 2.0” material remains a mystery – as does the lack of any sign that the “hand-picked analysts” from the FBI, CIA, and NSA, who wrote the “Intelligence Community Assessment” dated January 6, 2017, gave any attention to forensics.
NOTE: There has been so much conflation of charges about hacking that we wish to make very clear the primary focus of this Memorandum. We focus specifically on the July 5, 2016 alleged Guccifer 2.0 “hack” of the DNC server. In earlier VIPS memoranda we addressed the lack of any evidence connecting the Guccifer 2.0 alleged hacks and WikiLeaks, and we asked President Obama specifically to disclose any evidence that WikiLeaks received DNC data from the Russians [see here and here].
Addressing this point at his last press conference (January 18), he described “the conclusions of the intelligence community” as “not conclusive,” even though the Intelligence Community Assessment of January 6 expressed “high confidence” that Russian intelligence “relayed material it acquired from the DNC … to WikiLeaks.”
Obama’s admission came as no surprise to us. It has long been clear to us that the reason the U.S. government lacks conclusive evidence of a transfer of a “Russian hack” to WikiLeaks is because there was no such transfer. Based mostly on the cumulatively unique technical experience of our ex-NSA colleagues, we have been saying for almost a year that the DNC data reached WikiLeaks via a copy/leak by a DNC insider (but almost certainly not the same person who copied DNC data on July 5, 2016).
From the information available, we conclude that the same inside-DNC, copy/leak process was used at two different times, by two different entities, for two distinctly different purposes:
-(1) an inside leak to WikiLeaks before Julian Assange announced on June 12, 2016, that he had DNC documents and planned to publish them (which he did on July 22) – the presumed objective being to expose strong DNC bias toward the Clinton candidacy; and
-(2) a separate leak on July 5, 2016, to pre-emptively taint anything WikiLeaks might later publish by “showing” it came from a “Russian hack.”
    *  *  *
    Mr. President:
This is our first VIPS Memorandum for you, but we have a history of letting U.S. Presidents know when we think our former intelligence colleagues have gotten something important wrong, and why. For example, our first such memorandum, a same-day commentary for President George W. Bush on Colin Powell’s U.N. speech on February 5, 2003, warned that the “unintended consequences were likely to be catastrophic,” should the U.S. attack Iraq and “justfy” the war on intelligence that we retired intelligence officers could readily see as fraudulent and driven by a war agenda.
Secretary of State Colin Powell addressed the United Nations on Feb. 5. 2003, citing satellite photos which supposedly proved that Iraq had WMD, but the evidence proved bogus.
The January 6 “Intelligence Community Assessment” by “hand-picked” analysts from the FBI, CIA, and NSA seems to fit into the same agenda-driven category. It is largely based on an “assessment,” not supported by any apparent evidence, that a shadowy entity with the moniker “Guccifer 2.0” hacked the DNC on behalf of Russian intelligence and gave DNC emails to WikiLeaks.
The recent forensic findings mentioned above have put a huge dent in that assessment and cast serious doubt on the underpinnings of the extraordinarily successful campaign to blame the Russian government for hacking. The pundits and politicians who have led the charge against Russian “meddling” in the U.S. election can be expected to try to cast doubt on the forensic findings, if they ever do bubble up into the mainstream media. But the principles of physics don’t lie; and the technical limitations of today’s Internet are widely understood. We are prepared to answer any substantive challenges on their merits.
You may wish to ask CIA Director Mike Pompeo what he knows about this. Our own lengthy intelligence community experience suggests that it is possible that neither former CIA Director John Brennan, nor the cyber-warriors who worked for him, have been completely candid with their new director regarding how this all went down.
    Copied, Not Hacked
As indicated above, the independent forensic work just completed focused on data copied (not hacked) by a shadowy persona named “Guccifer 2.0.” The forensics reflect what seems to have been a desperate effort to “blame the Russians” for publishing highly embarrassing DNC emails three days before the Democratic convention last July. Since the content of the DNC emails reeked of pro-Clinton bias, her campaign saw an overriding need to divert attention from content to provenance – as in, who “hacked” those DNC emails? The campaign was enthusiastically supported by a compliant “mainstream” media; they are still on a roll.
“The Russians” were the ideal culprit. And, after WikiLeaks editor Julian Assange announced on June 12, 2016, “We have emails related to Hillary Clinton which are pending publication,” her campaign had more than a month before the convention to insert its own “forensic facts” and prime the media pump to put the blame on “Russian meddling.” Mrs. Clinton’s PR chief Jennifer Palmieri has explained how she used golf carts to make the rounds at the convention. She wrote that her “mission was to get the press to focus on something even we found difficult to process: the prospect that Russia had not only hacked and stolen emails from the DNC, but that it had done so to help Donald Trump and hurt Hillary Clinton.”
Independent cyber-investigators have now completed the kind of forensic work that the intelligence assessment did not do. Oddly, the “hand-picked” intelligence analysts contented themselves with “assessing” this and “assessing” that. In contrast, the investigators dug deep and came up with verifiable evidence from metadata found in the record of the alleged Russian hack.
They found that the purported “hack” of the DNC by Guccifer 2.0 was not a hack, by Russia or anyone else. Rather it originated with a copy (onto an external storage device – a thumb drive, for example) by an insider. The data was leaked after being doctored with a cut-and-paste job to implicate Russia. We do not know who or what the murky Guccifer 2.0 is. You may wish to ask the FBI.
    The Time Sequence
June 12, 2016: Assange announces WikiLeaks is about to publish “emails related to Hillary Clinton.”
June 15, 2016: DNC contractor Crowdstrike, (with a dubious professional record and multiple conflicts of interest) announces that malware has been found on the DNC server and claims there is evidence it was injected by Russians.
June 15, 2016: On the same day, “Guccifer 2.0” affirms the DNC statement; claims responsibility for the “hack;” claims to be a WikiLeaks source; and posts a document that the forensics show was synthetically tainted with “Russian fingerprints.”
We do not think that the June 12 & 15 timing was pure coincidence. Rather, it suggests the start of a pre-emptive move to associate Russia with anything WikiLeaks might have been about to publish and to “show” that it came from a Russian hack.
    The Key Event
July 5, 2016: In the early evening, Eastern Daylight Time, someone working in the EDT time zone with a computer directly connected to the DNC server or DNC Local Area Network, copied 1,976 MegaBytes of data in 87 seconds onto an external storage device. That speed is many times faster than what is physically possible with a hack.
It thus appears that the purported “hack” of the DNC by Guccifer 2.0 (the self-proclaimed WikiLeaks source) was not a hack by Russia or anyone else, but was rather a copy of DNC data onto an external storage device. Moreover, the forensics performed on the metadata reveal there was a subsequent synthetic insertion – a cut-and-paste job using a Russian template, with the clear aim of attributing the data to a “Russian hack.” This was all performed in the East Coast time zone.
    “Obfuscation & De-obfuscation”
Mr. President, the disclosure described below may be related. Even if it is not, it is something we think you should be made aware of in this general connection. On March 7, 2017, WikiLeaks began to publish a trove of original CIA documents that WikiLeaks labeled “Vault 7.” WikiLeaks said it got the trove from a current or former CIA contractor and described it as comparable in scale and significance to the information Edward Snowden gave to reporters in 2013.
No one has challenged the authenticity of the original documents of Vault 7, which disclosed a vast array of cyber warfare tools developed, probably with help from NSA, by CIA’s Engineering Development Group. That Group was part of the sprawling CIA Directorate of Digital Innovation – a growth industry established by John Brennan in 2015.
Scarcely imaginable digital tools – that can take control of your car and make it race over 100 mph, for example, or can enable remote spying through a TV – were described and duly reported in the New York Times and other media throughout March. But the Vault 7, part 3 release on March 31 that exposed the “Marble Framework” program apparently was judged too delicate to qualify as “news fit to print” and was kept out of the Times.

The Washington Post’s Ellen Nakashima, it seems, “did not get the memo” in time. Her March 31 article bore the catching (and accurate) headline: “WikiLeaks’ latest release of CIA cyber-tools could blow the cover on agency hacking operations.”
The WikiLeaks release indicated that Marble was designed for flexible and easy-to-use “obfuscation,” and that Marble source code includes a “deobfuscator” to reverse CIA text obfuscation.
More important, the CIA reportedly used Marble during 2016. In her Washington Post report, Nakashima left that out, but did include another significant point made by WikiLeaks; namely, that the obfuscation tool could be used to conduct a “forensic attribution double game” or false-flag operation because it included test samples in Chinese, Russian, Korean, Arabic and Farsi.
The CIA’s reaction was neuralgic. Director Mike Pompeo lashed out two weeks later, calling Assange and his associates “demons,” and insisting, “It’s time to call out WikiLeaks for what it really is, a non-state hostile intelligence service, often abetted by state actors like Russia.”
Mr. President, we do not know if CIA’s Marble Framework, or tools like it, played some kind of role in the campaign to blame Russia for hacking the DNC. Nor do we know how candid the denizens of CIA’s Digital Innovation Directorate have been with you and with Director Pompeo. These are areas that might profit from early White House review.
    Putin and the Technology
We also do not know if you have discussed cyber issues in any detail with President Putin. In his interview with NBC’s Megyn Kelly, he seemed quite willing – perhaps even eager – to address issues related to the kind of cyber tools revealed in the Vault 7 disclosures, if only to indicate he has been briefed on them. Putin pointed out that today’s technology enables hacking to be “masked and camouflaged to an extent that no one can understand the origin” [of the hack] … And, vice versa, it is possible to set up any entity or any individual that everyone will think that they are the exact source of that attack.”
“Hackers may be anywhere,” he said. “There may be hackers, by the way, in the United States who very craftily and professionally passed the buck to Russia. Can’t you imagine such a scenario? … I can.”
Full Disclosure: Over recent decades the ethos of our intelligence profession has eroded in the public mind to the point that agenda-free analysis is deemed well nigh impossible. Thus, we add this disclaimer, which applies to everything we in VIPS say and do: We have no political agenda; our sole purpose is to spread truth around and, when necessary, hold to account our former intelligence colleagues.
We speak and write without fear or favor. Consequently, any resemblance between what we say and what presidents, politicians and pundits say is purely coincidental. The fact we find it is necessary to include that reminder speaks volumes about these highly politicized times. This is our 50th VIPS Memorandum since the afternoon of Powell’s speech at the UN. How NKorean sites might be cauterized.

In the run up to any attack, the US would position nuclear submarines, naval ships, and stealth aircraft at bases near North Korea.
"Suddenly you'd read on the news that the US has conducted these airstrikes," said Tack.
While the F-22 and F-35 would certainly do work over North Korea missile production sites, it really a job for the B-2.
As a long-range bomber the B-2 could drop massive, 30,000lb bombs on deep underground bunkers setting off from bases as far away as Guam or the continental United States.
The initial targets would include nuclear reactors, missile production facilities, and launching pads for ICBMs, according to Tack.
Cruise missiles would be fired from the sea, F-22s would take out North Korea's archaic air defences and B-2s would pound every known missile site.

    Political humor

The IRS decides to audit Grandpa, and summons him to the IRS office. The IRS auditor was not surprised when Grandpa showed up with his attorney.
The auditor said, “Well, sir, you have an extravagant lifestyle and no full-time employment, which you explain by saying that you win money gambling. I’m not sure the IRS finds that believable.”
“I’m a great gambler, and I can prove it,” says Grandpa. “How about a demonstration?”
The auditor thinks for a moment and says, “OK. Go ahead.” Grandpa says, “I’ll bet you a thousand dollars that I can bite my own eye.”
The auditor thinks a moment and says, “It’s a bet.” Grandpa removes his glass eye and bites it. The auditor’s jaw drops. Grandpa says, “Now, I’ll bet you two thousand dollars that I can bite my other eye.” The auditor can tell Grandpa isn’t blind, so he takes the bet.
Grandpa removes his dentures and bites his good eye. The stunned auditor now realizes he has wagered and lost three grand, with Grandpa’s attorney as a witness. He starts to get nervous.
“Want to go double or nothing?” Grandpa asks. “I’ll bet you six thousand dollars that I can stand on one side of your desk, and pee into that wastebasket on the other side, and never get a drop anywhere in between.”
The auditor, twice burned, is cautious now, but he looks carefully and decides there’s no way this old guy could possibly manage that stunt, so he agrees again. Grandpa stands beside the desk and unzips his pants, but although he strains mightily, he can’t make the stream reach the wastebasket on the other side, so he pretty much urinates all over the auditor’s desk.
The auditor leaps with joy, realizing that he has just turned a major loss into a huge win. But Grandpa’s attorney moans and puts his head in his hands.
“Are you OK?” the auditor asks.
“Not really,” says the attorney. “This morning, when Grandpa told me he’d been summoned for an audit, he bet me twenty-five thousand dollars that he could come in here and pee all over your desk and that you’d be happy about it.”

    Obama leads anti government effort.

Dateline 2017: Shadow Government 'Dedicated to Lucifer' Settles in Two Miles From the White House

    from Charisma News

When former president Barack Obama, the first ever president to have a Masonic Inaugural Ball held in his honor, in his final official speech as President said he was "heartened" by anti-Trump protesters taking to the streets in communities around the country and on college campuses where fascist vandalism, violence, riots and fires were being set to protest Trump's first attempt at an immigration ban, he was sending the first of several clear messages to his army of 30,000-plus agitators. The two-term scheme (Jan. 20, 2009 – Jan. 20, 2017) to engineer America away from its Christian and traditional moorings was not over, and no Republican successor was going to change that.

Since then a lot has happened, and very quickly.

Obama immediately moved across town and set up bunkers just two miles from the White House where he and his Organizing for Action (OFA) associates and their 250 offices nationwide commenced efforts to affectively function as what some in the capital beltway are already calling a "shadow government" third-term pseudo-presidency. There, "legacies" from Obama era "accomplishments" are being crafted (often against established facts) and spoonfed to media accomplices while unprecedented efforts to fight, dismiss and sabotage Trump and his popular "America First" agenda are being funded by a $40 million (and growing) war chest. Young liberal activists, like Manchurian candidates, have been activated to oppose the new administration at every turn—immigration reform, Obamacare replacement, border security and more. They are also aided in that effort by the Obama Foundation whose IRS approved mission is supposed to be for funding and operating a library to house the former president's official papers for posterity, much like other presidents have done.

But Obama is taking his foundation down "the same controversial—and by some accounts illegal—post-presidency path of his predecessor Bill Clinton, according to documents reviewed by The Daily Caller News Foundation's Investigative Group." [iii]

The foundations language that caught the eye of Caller's investigators involves not just the building and maintaining of a library, but the diversion of funds for "activities reflecting President Obama's values and priorities throughout his career in public service."

In other words, the non-profit foundation will serve whatever Obama needs to shadow obstruct, resist, and subvert the policies and directives of the Trump administration.

And make no mistake, Obama has made this personal. He himself is overseeing the blitzkrieg. The former president has swiftly returned to his early station as a radical Saul Alinsky-style agitation organizer.

Alinsky, the 1960s radical who wrote Rules for Radicals and by whom Obama was guided, once said, "In the beginning, the organizer's first job is to create the issues or problems. Creating the problems allows people to feel so frustrated, so defeated, so lost, so futureless in the prevailing system that they are willing to let go of the past and chance the future." [iv] This is the playbook the Obama team is using today to create the appearance of "issues and problems" and a general sense of desperation among Millennials so that people will "feel so frustrated, so defeated, so lost, so futureless" that they turn to them for solutions.

According to Alinsky biographer Sanford Horwitt, Obama and his presidential campaign and polity were also significantly influenced by this kind of Alinsky-based radicalism and that Obama chose to follow in his footsteps as a Chicago-based community organizer. For three years during the 1980s, "Obama worked for the Developing Communities Project, which was influenced by Alinsky's work, and he [Obama] wrote an essay that was collected in a book memorializing Alinsky" [v] (of course Alinsky dedicated his book to Lucifer, the original radical and inspiration for those who follow his example). [vi]

This is why at Organizing for Action it is Obama himself that "is intimately involved in OFA operations and even tweets from the group's account," writes Paul Sperry for the New York Post. "In fact, he gave marching orders to OFA foot soldiers following Trump's upset victory [and is] overseeing it all from a shadow White House located within two miles of Trump. It features a mansion, which he's fortifying with construction of a tall brick perimeter, and a nearby taxpayer-funded office with his own chief of staff and press secretary. Michelle Obama will also open an office there, along with the Obama Foundation." [vii]

Valerie Jarrett, former senior adviser and close confidante of Obama, has also moved into the 8,200-square-foot, $5.3-million nerve-center mansion to assist Obama in organizing the mounting insurgency against Trump's stated objectives regarding Reagan-like economic policies, government deregulation, and middle-class jobs programs. According to Washington insiders, Obama's goal in this is straightforward—to fuel the "resistance" that will force Trump's resignation or see him impeached. Investigative reporter Matthew Vadum said it this way: "Former President Obama is waging war against the Trump administration through his generously funded agitation outfit, Organizing for Action, to defend his monumentally destructive record of failure and violent polarization. It is a chilling reminder that the increasingly aggressive, in-your-face Left in this country is on the march." [viii]

A new $80 million anti-Trump network funded by liberal billionaire George Soros has also joined the effort and is being led by the former members of the now-defunct and notorious Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now (ACORN).

The Center for Popular Democracy Action Fund is the sister organization of the Center for Popular Democracy (CPD), a New York-based nonprofit "that receives the bulk of its funding from George Soros [and] announced at their spring gala Tuesday that they will be heading up the new $80 million anti-Trump network that will span 32 states and have 48 local partners," CNN reported. [ix]

Together with other "Trump Derangement Syndrome" sufferers, Soros-funded Obama-era holdovers with axes to grind that are still part of the federal bureaucracy but whose allegiance remains with the 44thpresident have as part of "the resistance" been selectively leaking classified government information (a federal crime that senior U.S. officials say is endangering American security operations and servicemen) [x] in hopes of either directly damaging Trump or at a minimum producing a false impression that the new president either obstructed justice (by allegedly asking former FBI Director James Comey to stop investigating former national security adviser Michael Flynn), committed some other unspecified crime, or is simply too inept to run the country (and to be fair, while no evidence exists at this time to support the lion's share of deceit, demagoguery and mass hysteria aimed at denigrating Trump, his incessant tweeting and general inability to articulate has not helped alleviate the situation).

Why are men happier (and thus vote Republican).

    Men Are Just Happier People!

What do you expect from such simple creatures? Your last name stays put. The garage is all yours. Wedding plans take care of themselves.  Chocolate is just another snack.  You can never be pregnant. You can wear a white T-shirt to a water park. You can wear NO shirt to a water park.

Car mechanics tell you the truth. The world is your urinal. You never have to drive to another gas station restroom because this one is just too icky. You don't have to stop and think of which way to turn a nut on a bolt. Wrinkles add character.  Wedding dress - $5,000. Tux rental - $100. People never stare at your chest when you're talking to them. New shoes don't cut, blister, or mangle your feet. One mood all the time. Phone conversations are over in 30 seconds flat. You know stuff about tanks, boats and planes.

A five-day vacation requires only one suitcase. You can open all your own jars. You get extra credit for the slightest act of thoughtfulness. If someone forgets to invite you, he or she can still be your friend. Your underwear is $8.95 for a three-pack. Two pairs of shoes are more than enough. You almost never have strap problems in public. You are unable to see wrinkles in your clothes. Everything on your face stays its original color. The same hairstyle lasts for years, maybe decades. You only have to shave your face and neck.

You can play with toys all your life. One wallet and one pair of shoes - one color for all seasons.   You can wear shorts no matter how your legs look. You can 'do' your nails with a pocket knife.   You have freedom of choice concerning growing a mustache. You can do Christmas shopping for 25 relatives onDecember 24 in 25 minutes.

    No wonder men are happier!

    Trump campaign was monitored.

The chairman of the House Intelligence Committee is accusing top political aides of President Obama of making hundreds of requests during the 2016 presidential race to unmask the names of Americans in intelligence reports, including Trump transition officials.

Intelligence Chairman Devin Nunes (R-Calif.), in a letter to Director of National Intelligence Dan CoatsDan CoatsIntelligence chairman accuses Obama aides of hundreds of unmasking requests said the requests were made without specific justifications on why the information was needed.

“We have found evidence that current and former government officials had easy access to U.S. person information and that it is possible that they used this information to achieve partisan political purposes, including the selective, anonymous leaking of such information,” Nunes wrote in the letter to Coats.

The letter was provided to The Hill from a source in the intelligence community.
In March, Nunes disclosed that he had seen data suggesting Trump campaign and transition officials were having their names unmasked by departing officials in the Obama White House.
National Security Adviser Susan Rice and CIA Director John Brennan have acknowledged making such requests though they insisted the requests were for legitimate work reasons.

So, Trump campaign officials were monitored.

Can you time the next downturn in stocks?

Larry Edelson, before he died, predicted(based on his cycle software results) that the DOEWwould top out at 31,000. Others are predicting that the DOW is about to crash because of the high rate of borrowing. To be sure, stock valuation is way above the customery P/E ratios.

Some people believe that stock market slumps are induced by massive selling. Let's see what happened during these slumps with respect to the collapse of margin debt and the accumulation of funds:

The graphic above shows the contraction of margin debt and stock prices; in this case the S&P 500.The graph shows several things:

    1. Margin debt in the current cycle is very high. So, the extra money created by the FED has gone into margin debt and buying stock;
    2. The last two bear markets were preceded by a dramatic contraction of margin debt.
    3. The next bear market will be a big one.

Expect Mueller investigation to be shut down.

    Why you ax?

The statutory authority to conduct such an investigation is spelled out in 28 CFR 600.4. The Special Counsel is required to state the criminal activity he/she is going to investigate. To my knowledge, no such statement has been made. Furthermore, it is not a violation of the law for a campaign to talk to anyone, whether US citizens or not. Also, the President may express an opinion/wish as to whether the Director of the FBI should investigate an individual. Thus, there is no crime to investigate.

28 CFR 600.1 states that the Special Counsel must obtain permission to change the object of his investigation(should he/she have a legally stated crime being investigated). Thus, the switching by Mueller to the investigation of Trump and associates' business deals is outside of the scope of his authority and amounts to opposition research at the government's dime.

Finally, Congress has two Committees investigating the contact between the Trump campaign and individuals of Russian citizenship. Mueller's investigation is unnecessary and amounts to partisan activity by Democrats hired by Mueller.

    Is the gold rally underway?

One of the experts I read wrote that the time has arrived to back up the truck and buy gold and the miners. Friday's action was, however, somewhat mixed. Gold was up and silver too, but the miners were lackluster. Whether the miners did not confirm because of a shortage of time, or because investors are not ready will not be known till later this week.

Gold is opening marginally higher, but not significantly higher. If gold goes up to 1273, it will then go to 1300. That is all we can say for now.

28 CFR 600.4 bars Mueller from broadening his investigation.

    Here is the statute:

    "§ 600.4 Jurisdiction.
(a)Original jurisdiction. The jurisdiction of a Special Counsel shall be established by the Attorney General. The Special Counsel will be provided with a specific factual statement of the matter to be investigated. The jurisdiction of a Special Counsel shall also include the authority to investigate and prosecute federal crimes committed in the course of, and with intent to interfere with, the Special Counsel's investigation, such as perjury, obstruction of justice, destruction of evidence, and intimidation of witnesses; and to conduct appeals arising out of the matter being investigated and/or prosecuted.
(b)Additional jurisdiction. If in the course of his or her investigation the Special Counsel concludes that additional jurisdiction beyond that specified in his or her original jurisdiction is necessary in order to fully investigate and resolve the matters assigned, or to investigate new matters that come to light in the course of his or her investigation, he or she shall consult with the Attorney General, who will determine whether to include the additional matters within the Special Counsel's jurisdiction or assign them elsewhere.
(c)Civil and administrative jurisdiction. If in the course of his or her investigation the Special Counsel determines that administrative remedies, civil sanctions or other governmental action outside the criminal justice system might be appropriate, he or she shall consult with the Attorney General with respect to the appropriate component to take any necessary action. A Special Counsel shall not have civil or administrative authority unless specifically granted such jurisdiction by the Attorney General. "

Special Counsel Mueller has NOT uncovered any crime and his investigations should be wound down.

Mueller is acting outside of the law.

Time to enforce the law: clip the wings of Mueller.

The law that establishes the jurisdiction of the Special Counsel is 28 CFR 600.4. That section states that the Attorney General has the responsibility to establish the jurisdiction of the Special Counsel. Furthermore, 28 CFR 600.1 specifies that there must be an underlying crime that the Special Council is empowered to investigate. That means that Mueller is operating outside the law because:

    1. there is no stated crime that he can investigate.
    2. he is now attempting to branch away from his mandate by investigating Trump's business dealings, which he is not authorized to do.

Therefore, Rosenstein or Trump can instruct Mueller to end his investigation.
Mueller has hired a bunch of Democrats who are doing opposition research. This is not allowed under the statues.

    Le Tour de France 2017

I like to watch the Tour de France. For one thing we get to see the French countryside: the little towns, the castles and the towers, the rivers, the meadows of grain and sunflowers, the hills and the mountains.

This is an insane sport. It starts on the lowlands where speeding is done and then switches to the mountains. The majority of the bikers bunch together in the Peleton where they get a little extra pull from the other bikers. But, there are breakaways called attacks when a few bikers try to sprint ahead of the main group to gain time. The race is won in the mountains and the organizers schedule the race to run in the Alps and the Pyrenees. That is where breakaways succeed.

There are sprinters and climbers, stars and domestiques (guys who help the stars) and teams that are there to protect the stars.

This year the Tour is the same but different. Two of the top sprinters are gone: Cavendish was pushed by Sagan earlier: Cavendish was hurt and is out, while Sagan was disqualified. And breakaways are numerous and successful. There have been crashes and one rider competes with a broken hand.

The Tour is coming to an end. The final segment is the race in Paris. Will it end peacefully or succumb to a crazy Muslim(excuse the redundancy) trying his private jihad? Let's hope for the former.

USD continues to drop as gold getting ready for a rally.

    China:getting ready fot golden Yuan.

Australian gold exports to Hong Kong and China were 54% higher Q1 2017 versus the same quarter last year:
As we can see in the chart above, Australia exported 57.4 metric tons (mt) of gold in Q1 2017 compared to 37.2 mt Q1 2016.  What a difference in ten years.  Australian gold exports to Hong Kong and China were nonexistent in 2008.  However, after the U.S. and global market meltdown that year, China started to import more gold, especially since 2011.
Even though I compared Q1 2017 Australian gold exports to China to the first quarters of previous years in the chart above, the data for all quarters shows that the present quarter is the highest amount on record.
Furthermore, Australia is now exporting the majority of its gold to Hong Kong and China.  For example, of the total 75 mt of Australian gold exports Q1 2017, 57.4 mt or 77% went to Hong Kong and China.  Here was the breakdown for Q1 2017.
    Australian Gold Exports Q1 2017:
    Hong Kong & China = 57.4 mt
    U.K. = 7 mt
    Singapore = 2.1 mt
    India = 2.0 mt
    Thailand = 2.0 mt
    Other = 4.5 mt
In addition, of the 83 mt of Australian gold exports Q4 2016, two-thirds made their way to Hong Kong and China.  So, we can plainly see that China is importing the most gold from Australia ever.
Now, what is even more interesting is that Australian exports more gold than they produce from their domestic gold mines.  This is also true for the United States.  I decided to take the gold mine supply and gold export figures from these two countries to produce the chart below:
Here we can see that Australia and the U.S. produced a combined 510 mt of gold in 2016, but their gold exports totaled 762 mt.  Thus, these two countries exported nearly 50% more gold than they produced in 2016.

Passionate violin music of Eastern Europe.

It starts with the Monti czardas then switches to the "Lark" also known as the Hora staccato. Enjoy!

Unfortunately, my computer conjures up an interview with Lakatos .

    But here is the Lark:

    The legacy of Nikolai Kondratieff.

    N. Kondratieff made discoveries that natural things (including human affairs and economies)  move in waves and thus are following formulas that render such affairs predictable. Larry Edelson came of that school. Larry has passed away and he passed the torch to his protégé Mike Burnick. Mike's reading of the waves? The DOW will hit 31,000 before it crashes. The carnage will be unbelievable.

Here is a video. My version ends in the middle

    http://www.moneyandmarkets.com/reports/RWR/stockmarket-tsunami-ext/ext3-mb-197/?ccode=&em=1500303370-596912447%40anonymous.weissinc.com&sc=ENCP&ec=7510222&camped=

Silver and gold: Record shorts are being covered.

The last time I wrote about silver and gold I quoted the successor to Larry Edelson that gold should bottom in the middle of July and begin to rally. That forecast was correct.

This time I am citing the covering of shorts by the commercials. These are the people in the know:

    http://kingworldnews.com/fascinating-email-from-a-kwn-reader-about-the-gold-market/

Note that there was not merely a record short position in silver, but the covering is the steepest ever. The covering of the shorts is usually accompanied by a rise in prices. Gold is similar, but changes are less volatile (the slope of covering is less steep). Silver is an industrial metal as well as a monetary metal.

Media tries to foment war against Russia.

The US: Cultural and Political Civil War.

That is how Bernstein characterizes the political scene today. He blames it on FOX and CNN representing different realities.

Is he right? Partly. There is a "cold civil war" threatening to become a shooting war. The Left has captured the Media and Academia and does not want to give up just because they lost an election. So, they try to drive the elected President out of office, or, failing that, to sabotage the Republicans until they can elect an another Leftist (Kamala Harris D-CA, is the designated, female Obama) and resume forging toward a Socialist America.

    Bernstein's remarks are here:http://www.washingtonexaminer.com/carl-bernstein-cold-civil-war-gripping-us-as-media-embrace-different-truths/article/2628813

We know that the Left produces not just fake news, but biased news. That is they cover news that serves their interest and produce opinions as facts. I am not sure how long the Civil War will stay cold. The Left is already fighting in the streets.

France wants to wreck British economy.

Revealed: City of London accuses France of plot to ‘wreck Britain’ – even if it gains nothing itself

    • A leaked memo says French bankers are plotting to 'actively disrupt' the City
    • The London financial centre is worth £66 billion a year to the Treasury
    • The City's Brexit envoy says Macron has declared 'open war' on the Square Mile
    • French representatives are now offering firms big money to move to Paris
The memo, sent to Ministers, says the French government and banking chiefs are plotting to ‘actively disrupt and destroy’ the UK’s multi-billion-pound financial sector when Britain leaves the EU – even if France gains nothing.
The missive blames the ‘giddy’ effect of newly elected President Emmanuel Macron for an ‘assertive collective endeavour’ to wreck the City, which is worth £66 billion a year to the Treasury in tax receipts – around half of the entire budget for NHS England.

The 'giddy' effect of newly elected Emmanuel Macron is said to be blamed for the new French plot to 'actively disrupt' the City
The memo was written after the City of London’s Brexit envoy – former Home Office Minister Jeremy Browne – held talks in Paris earlier this month at the French finance ministry, state-owned Banque de France, the French Senate and the British Embassy. He met banking chiefs, senior politicians and diplomats.

His message to UK Treasury Ministers and MPs says Macron’s France has effectively declared open war on London’s Square Mile. And he warns starkly: ‘They are crystal clear about their underlying objective: the weakening of Britain, the on-going degradation of the City of London.’
He pointed to ‘French representatives crashing around London’ offering big sums to firms to move to Paris.
French finance minister Bruno Le Maire was appointed by Mr Macron earlier this year after being lauded for saying Brexit provided a ‘fabulous opportunity for France’. And the country’s banking bosses are just as belligerent, says Mr Browne.
He writes: ‘The meeting with the French Central Bank was the worst I have had anywhere in the EU. They are in favour of the hardest Brexit. They want disruption. They actively seek disaggregation of financial services provision.’

The City of London’s Brexit envoy Jeremy Browne (pictured) has warned UK Treasury Ministers that Macron’s France has effectively declared open war on London’s Square Mile
Reinforcing his warning, Mr Browne says: ‘The clear messages emanating from Paris are not just the musings of a rogue senior official in the French government or central bank. France could not be clearer about their intentions. They see Britain and the City of London as adversaries, not partners.’ The memo suggests that other EU nations who wanted good relations with the UK over Brexit were alarmed by France’s hostile conduct but were powerless – or unwilling – to stop them.
Mr Browne says: ‘There is plenty of anxiety elsewhere in the EU about the French throwing their weight around so aggressively, but their destructive impulses are not being confined, and other EU countries that want a friendly relationship with Britain and the City of London are being marginal.

The memo states that the 'on-going degradation of the City of London' is a key objective for French bankers and politicians
The French were ‘commendably honest about their true intentions – which makes the exchanges more meaningful.’
Mr Browne even hints they were acting out of spite, ‘making a virtue of rejecting a partnership with Britain and happy to see outcomes detrimental to the City – even if Paris is not the beneficiary’.
Make no mistake, he warns, France sees the UK and the City ‘as adversaries, not partners.’
