Banding of the young storks.

The stork is a protected bird of Eastern Europe. There are artificial nesting poles erected in many villages and the storks return to their nest each March. Thus, the nests get heavy and need to be cleaned periodically. The young birds are docile and can be handled.
 
While the Szol a Kakas (Speaks the Rooster) is a beautiful song that Transylvanian Jews regard as sacred, it is about loons, not storks. But a beautiful Hungarian folk song, nonetheless:
