Commenting on the news.

1. Gold did cross 1,300. Temporarily, then it backed off. It looked as if the bouillon banks were going to do it again, but then gold recovered. It will make another run at 1,300, but I don't believe the breakthrough will happen just yet. Thirteen hundred was an important support level, so going and staying above it may take 3-4 attempts. It is coming though. Then gold will advance rapidly.

2. Silver is having a correction after a rapid rise. Silver miners are doing better than silver, which happens in a bull market.

3. The end of the Republican primaries. Republican insiders adopted a strategy of pushing for Ted Cruz to derail Trump, on the way to a contested Convention and then sinking Cruz and having their own candidate. That strategy is over and done with. Trump emerged unchallangable from Indiana and Kasich has become a footnote.

4. The GOP establishment is in dithers as its cherished ideas of international "free" trade is under assault. Likewise, the Democrat attempt to load the Country with cheap labor Hispanics (future Democrats) -also supported by the GOP establishment- was also rejected by the Trump coalition.

This caps the most bizarre primary season in the GOP.

On the Dem side crazy Bernie continues on but he can not win the delegates needed for nomination. Thus, the Dems are wedded to Hillary.

If Hillary falters, O'Bungle can always remove Hillary by having her indicted.

5. The Stanley Cup playoffs.  Tonight is a pivotal game for the Caps. If they lose, it's all over. I expect Pittsburg to  go on to the finals, because neither Tampa Bay nor the Islanders are strong enough to stop Pittsburg.

6. Europe is quiet now but things aren't getting better.

7. The anti cancer fight now puts the spotlight on a conference this week. More on that later.
