Exit: The Washington Capitals

It is strange, is it not, that Monday night the Capitals not only avoided the exit by beating the Pittsburgh Penquins, but just about run them out of their rink on the way to scoring five goals. The same team two nights later could not buy one and was eliminated at home. No use blaming Ovetchkin for that one. He, the Captain of the team, was demoted to the third line, but was playing as well as usual. Just did not score. None of the Caps did. It was as if an invisible shield descended between the Pittsburgh goalie and their opponents.

Normally, we would say "wait till next year." But, next year a number of the Caps will be gone, so next year will not be any better.
