President Trump asked the Chinese to reduce their trade balance with us by $100B/year. In addition, Pres Trump is proposing to stop the Chinese from ripping us off in their dealings with us. Maria Bartiromo described this morning how the Chinese are harming us.
The Chinese are buying up companies with new technologies, including some tech needed for defense. American companies trying to set up subsidiaries in China must surrender their technology to the Chinese government and can only own 49% of the joint venture. The Chinese then can take over the company and produce the goods with cheap labor and undercut our companies. Thie is not free trade, it is piracy.
