The Republican elite is losing its mind over Trump. Essentially, the elite consists of mostly "moderate" Republicans, politicians and intellectuals who are moderately Republican. Yes, there are the "Chamber of Commerce Republicans" who want to flood the Country with low-skilled Hispanics to keep wages down. But for the most part, the elite wants to continue the slow march to Socialism and the sexual depravity championed by the Democrats. They are not the full Dollar Leftists, just the 95 cents variety.
We have not forgotten the Jeb Bush goals of getting the nomination without the base. So. Jeb Bush has sunk quite low and people turn off his commercials.
The elite is getting desperate. They are now saying that if Trump is the nominee, they will promote a third party effort from within the Republican Party:

People are getting sick of the Republican elite. The cowardly caving to Obama on the budget is just the latest example of how the GOP has lost its way. I suspect that the elite would be just as freaked out if Sen Cruz was nominated.
Just as an aside, the cycle predictions of Larry Edelson predict a ride through Hell between now and 2020. The elite do not care if they elect Hillary and we do take that ride. Have you noticed that when the elite nominate one of theirs (Dole, McCain and Romney come to mind) we are supposed to hold our nose but when they do not get their way, they threaten a third party suicide?
