The Art of War met the Art of Deal.

That is the subject of Steven W Mosher's article in the NY Post. Mr Mosher concludes:

"The Chinese have been set on their heels by an American adversary who quotes Sun Tzu: 'The supreme art of war is to subdue the enemy without fighting.'
The Art of War has met The Art of the Deal. And The Art of the Deal has won.
Only the terms of the surrender remain to be negotiated."
You almost got it Mr Mosher. Yes, Sun Tzu was a master strategist and yes he believed in subduing the enemy without fighting. But, he believed that the best general would maneuver so he would not have to fight at all and avoid war.
The Art of the Deal calls not for the surrender of China, but for a deal that both China and we can live with. That is after all, the essence of a deal.
China has made very impressive gains in economics and remaking their country to become a political, economic and military superpower.  But, the use of that power to become a world hegemon at the expense of others is not something that will make China friends. Perhaps China needs the Christian church and the Holy Spirit to help them set limits that others can live with. China and the US need someone who understands strategy and the art of the deal. Fortunately, we got someone just like that.
