How is Mr Romney wrong? 3. Domestic policies.

Mr Romney admits that Pres Trump acted on matters that Republicans long wanted changed: "It is not that all of the president's policies have been misguided. He was right to align U.S. corporate taxes with those of global competitors, to strip out excessive regulations, to crack down on China's unfair trade practices, to reform criminal justice and to appoint conservative judges. These are policies mainstream Republicans have promoted for years. But policies and appointments are only a part of a presidency."

So, what is wrong Mr Romney? What is wrong is that Republicans failed to do what they believe in and Mr Trump did. And you, Sir, did not even get to first base and botched your campaign. 

So, what is wrong Mr Romney? He goes on with his complaint: "But policies and appointments are only a part of a presidency.

To a great degree, a presidency shapes the public character of the nation. A president should unite us and inspire us to follow "our better angels." A president should demonstrate the essential qualities of honesty and integrity, and elevate the national discourse with comity and mutual respect. As a nation, we have been blessed with presidents who have called on the greatness of the American spirit. With the nation so divided, resentful and angry, presidential leadership in qualities of character is indispensable. And it is in this province where the incumbent's shortfall has been most glaring."

Tsk, tsk Mr Romney. From the first day that Mr Trump won the Presidency, the Democrats were out to destroy his government. They called subtly for resistance to him and his policies, some even called for his assassination. Holdovers from the previous (Demomocrat) administration spied on his campaign and appointed a Special Counsel to hound his associates and try to trap them; all with the idea of trying to imply that he was elected with Russian interference. In fact, 62% of Democrats believe that the Russians changed the votes! Now the Democrats  refuse to compromise with him and even forced him to shut down the government, because he wants an effective barrier to stop illegal migration. They are engaging in massive lawbreaking by refusing to co-operate with ICE in apprehending even illegal aliens who are criminals. You can not unite with such people and such policies!

Open your eyes Mr Romney! You are allying with the wrong people, the wrong ideas. They will lionize you while you are hurting the GOP but if you run for President they will crush you like the pitiful cucaracca you are.
