A fan's comment on Dak Prescott.

It is time to confess: I am a Cowboys' fan. It's been a long journey from hooting and cheering for "the Diesel" (aka John Riggins of the Redskins) and listening to Sonny and Sam broadcasting the game on radio to the point of making this admission. But, the people to whom this matters (my son and grandson) already know this. That is why this Thanksgiving had a little tension; them two remaining die hard Redskin fans. But, I am not writing this to comment on the game yesterday, I am writing this to comment on Dak Prescott, the Dallas Cowboys QB.

I can see Jason Reid having racial pride in Dak Prescott (and trying some not to show it) being 'black' but I look past his skin color. Dak Prescott is first and foremost a winner. He is out there trying to do his best so his team wins and he is good at it. He does not run the ball unless he absolutely has to and he passes to whoever is open and can hold on to the ball. If it is a tall, black dude or a scrawny white guy (who is practically invisible to opponents) or Mr Velcro (Jason Witten) Prescott will throw the ball to him if he can. And he often can. And of course there is Ezekiel Elliott, who is a constant threat to rip off yards on the ground. Add to this the offensive line that can provide protection for the QB and you see the explanation why the Cowboys have the best record this year.

In short, Dak Prescott is NOT A BLACK QUARTERBACK, he is a quarterback with dark skin. A 100% improvement over Kaepernik, whose racial background is similar, but who tries just too hard to be "black."

At one time all the quarterbacks in pro football were white. The NFL tried to change that by taking black running backs who could throw the ball and making them quarterbacks. That's how McNabb became one. He eventually got pounded too many times and lost effectiveness. But he could not be criticized without the critic being called racist.

Dak Prescott is being coached to be a quarterback. And he is. A good one.

One more thing needs to be said. Tony Romo is not a loser, nor should he feel like one. But, after 10 years of being a QB his body became too fragile. Opponents figured out that all they have to do is get to him and get his shoulder on the ground and he will be injured. The last injury he had was a serious one, a broken bone. That was not his only injury to the spinal chord. The time has come for Tony Romo to retire. It comes to all football players eventually. Tony has been a real gent about it.
