How will our Fourth Turning unfold?

Basically, a Fourth Turning can be an external struggle (such as the Revolutionary War) or an internal struggle (such as the Civil War). By the definitions of Strauss and Howe, the Civil War was an obvious internal struggle that ended in the defeat of the South and the freeing of the slaves. However, slavery was only one of the issues that brought on the Civil War. The other great issue of division was the nature of the Union and the rights of the States. In the aftermath of the Civil War the slaves were freed and a good portion of the rights of the States were retained. America missed the opportunity to bring a just and wise settlement to the slavery issue by repatriating the former slaves. England, which also had slaves, avoided both a Civil War and resettled the former slaves and thus avoided further issues on the subject of race.

Our hurtling toward a Fourth Turning is more complicated. We have an educational system that is hostile to and non-supportive of our traditions of a market economy. We have a college-educated Elite that has rigged the system against the middle class. We have racial minorities upon whose votes the Elite depend on to maintain their rule. And one of our major political parties wants to subjugate our citizens by importing foreigners from Central America who will vote for them in exchange for welfare payments. This same Party also is importing Muslims whose philosophy of living and government is incompatible with the rest of us. Overshadowing all of this is a system of currency doomed to fail due to deficit spending.

The last election did not solve these problems, but helped delineate the extent of the divisions. The question then is what will be the equivalent of Fort Sumpter that will fire the first shot.

There are forces (the Media and the Soros alliance) that are trying to foment riots and insurrections to stop the inauguration of Donald Trump as President. IMHO, I do not think that this will set off the conflagration. Even our Leftist President (Barak Hussein, a delusional individual) is committed (at least publicly) to a peaceful transition of power. What is much more likely to set off the conflagration is the question of "Sanctuary Cities." Democrat Mayors of our major cities are in open rebellion against the Federal government. President Elect Donald Trump had threatened to cut off federal funds to these cities and if that happens the Mayors have a number of options - all of which are a declaration of Civil War, Will the Courts intervene? Maybe, but will they be listened to? Doubtful.
