The Trump speech to Congress.

I hope you have seen it on TV. It was masterfully constructed, masterfully delivered. To quote Obungle: "it was the one we have been waiting for." A Republican with guts, that is.

The Country agreed with it (about 71% or so) which is a big setback for the Establishment. I will not go through the highlights of it, figuring you have heard it elsewhere. Instead of that, I will point out a couple of interesting aspects.

The Media follow the lessons learned from driving Nixon from office, so, the Media tried to lessen Trump's support by "leaking" that Trump was going to praise Obamacare and propose amnesty for the illegals waiting to be registered as democrats. It did not happen. Trump shored up the GOP on repealing Obamacare and fleshed out his programs. Including immigration.

Notable was the Media reaction to the speech. Even some in the Leftist Media admitted that it was a very good speech. And they all mimicked Chris Matthews that "Trump became President" with that speech. Which led Rush Limbaugh to note that the Liberals did not listen to Trump during the campaign, but simply heard the Media's characterization that Trump was a buffoon. So, they were surprised when confronted by a Trump who was every inch a President in command of his ideas. The problem was that even Chris Matthews (who interviewed Trump) approached the Donald on the basis of "gottya" i.e trying to trip him up instead discussing his ideas.

The Democrats' response? Nancy Pelosi (bless her heart) called it "snake oil." Women members of the Party did worse. I suspect that the Lord sent an evil spirit that whispered to the Democrat women to wear white. Supposedly it was to remind everyone of the Suffragettes. Their problem is that there is not a single jurisdiction in the Country that bars women from voting, so the gesture was at best meaningless. What it reminded us was the KKK. All those women needed were the dunce caps.
