So, this is what happened: Hillary's campaign hired Fusion JPS (an 'opposition research firm' ,i. e. a smear machine) to collect dirt on Donald Trump. They paid Christopher Steele. Steele then turned to some Russian operatives who supplied him with some unverifiable dirt. The Hillary campaign also fed some dirt to Steele. The Steele 'dossier' was given to the FBI, which used it to get a FISA warrant to spy on two Trump associates. Why those two? Because they hoped to get Trump on tape as well and spy on his campaign. The FISA Court was presented the Steele 'dossier' as intelligence and that was a crime. The warrant was granted and Trump and hos aids were spied upon.
FBI Director Comey (whose signature appears on the FISA warrant request) wrote a memo alleging that Trump tried to pressure him to finish the investigation of General Flynn. Rosenstein (another signatory for a FISA renewal request) appointed a Special Counsel who is a friend of Comey. Gen Flynn was trapped by Mueller (Flynn denied having had contact with the Russian Ambassador, but the Conspirators had him wiretapped) in hopes of him betraying Trump.
