AJ begins.
The "TOWN HALL" production staged by CNN reminds one of the crowds in the French revolution, being riled up by agitators. It was staged to attack the NRA and shift the blame to them for the massacre at Stoneman Douglas High School. The facts are coming out in spite of CNN and the Media trying to shift the blame. Sheriff Israel and his deputies have failed to perform their duties. In the land of the 'hanging chad' you can not count on the Sheriff's Dept. There were as many as four Deputies who failed to go into the school and neutralize the perp. Here are the thoughts of a private citizen who urges that this disgraced Sheriff resign.
from the PatriotReport.com
"Over the last week, I’ve been having a bit of a tough time Lupus-wise. And it’s hard not to get all kinds of discouraged.
Last night, as I was feeling particularly sorry for myself, I went on the Internet and discovered that the “school resource officer” assigned to protect the students at Stoneman Douglas High School didn’t do his job.
Instead of entering the school and engaging the suspect, he stayed outside while children inside were being slaughtered.
And suddenly I felt like a creep for feeling sorry for myself.
I imagined the families of those killed and the anguish they’ve experienced over the last week.
How must they feel when each new revelation of the flagrant malpractice of the Broward County Sheriff’s department is revealed?
If we’re furious over this latest bit of news, just imagine how the families of the dead must feel right now.
And every time I think of that arrogant Sheriff Israel sitting on that stage during CNN’s show trial pointing an accusing finger at Dana Loesch and the NRA … it infuriates me all the more.
When Sheriff Israel told reporters that this deputy failed to engage the murderer – or even enter the freaking building – he had the unmitigated gall to say that he was “devastated. Sick to my stomach. There are no words.”
And yet the night before, he sat on that stage riling up the crowd and implicating Dana Loesch and the NRA in this mass murder.
What a despicable man.
In fact, he was so proud of his sham performance, he sent out this shameless and disgusting tweet afterward:
Broward Sheriff
✔ @browardsheriff
“You are NOT standing up for these students.” - Sheriff Israel to @NRA spokeswoman.
Jake Tapper
✔ @jaketapper
This is horrific. “In November, a tipster called BSO to say Cruz ‘could be a school shooter in the making’ but deputies did not write up a report on that warning. It came just weeks after a relative called urging BSO to seize his weapons.” https://twitter.com/jaketapper/status/966853104179273729 …
Sheriff Israel should resign post haste.
Not only did he fail to protect these children; he then chose to politicize their deaths to attack a civil rights organization that had nothing to do with the tragedy.
But the truth is, this isn’t just incompetence.
Too many red flags either ignored or downplayed led to the deaths of seventeen people. And what’s worse, they were ignored on purpose.
As Sundance over at The Conservative Treehouse points out, this wasn’t a case of mistakes being made or the Sheriff missing warning signs. It is a direct result of policy.
It is important to understand the policy here. Broward County law enforcement (Sheriff Israel), in conjunction with Broward County School Officials (Superintendent Runcie and School Board), have a standing policy to ignore any criminal engagement with High School students.
When the police are hiding current, actual and ongoing unlawful conduct as a matter of standard procedure on a regular basis, what do we expect the police would do with reports of potential unlawful conduct? Of course they would ignore them.
And the fact that this Sheriff knew all that when he sat on that stage Wednesday night riling up the crowd to attack Dana Loesch is nothing short of contemptable.
My guess is that Sheriff Israel is using this deputy as a scapegoat – maybe in hopes that nobody look any deeper into this craven policy to ignore criminal behavior in Broward County schools.
Don’t get me wrong. This “school resource officer” should be held accountable.
But the truth is, so should Sheriff Scott Israel.
And so too should Broward County Superintendent Robert Runcie.
