The Divisional Playoffs.

Some people believe that the NFL is dieing. I can see why the 'Progressives' hate the NFL. Man, all those American flags, military guards - it would set off any self loathing Prog.

The NFL  showcased the Dallas Cowboys and that rekindled some interest. The fab rookies of the Cowboys almost made you forget the magic of Aaron Rogers, Matt Ryan, Roethlisberger let alone Tom Brady.

The Divisional Playoffs began as expected. New England beat Huston (as expected) and Atlanta polished off Washington (AC). The surprises came Sunday. Rogers had the magic touch and before the Cowboys woke up they were down 21-3. Then the Cowboys scored (and I figured 'here we go') except GB came back with  their own TD. That should have been it. But, it wasn't. Dallas proceeded to pulverize GB and tied the score. On the way to the tie the Cowboys made a slight (but oh so important) tactical mistake. QB Elliot spiked the ball on first down. Then they scored and left too much time on the clock. That's when Rogers pulled his magic. No, not a hail Mary into the end zone, but a hail Mary down the sideline. That set up the final field goal that won it for the Packers. The Pittsburgh KC game was a boring anticlimax. Sam Huff probably liked the defensive stands of KC, but the Steelers won anyway on six field goals.

The Progs hate the outcome. Too many white guys were heroes and all the black quarterbacks are gone. Me, I just lost interest.

So, it's off to ice hockey. My team, the Washington Capitols  had been on a teare so I tuned in the Caps Penguins game. The first period ended Caps up 3 nothing. Just a continuation of the Caps fab defense. Then came the second period.   I was having dinner when the roof caved in and the Pens scored 5 straight goals. Then the Caps scored one. I got disgusted and went to regular TV with Management. Then I turned on the TV before ending the night and found out that the Caps lost EIGHT TO SEVEN. Contrary to expectations, things do not get better.

What will happen in the NFL now? GB is going to Atlanta and GB is beaten up after playing the NY Giants and Dallas. Atlanta is the likely winner. The New England Pittsburgh confrontation might be interesting and will be determined whether the Pats can solve covering Antonine Brown. If it's the Steelers vs New England, then the outcome is almost predetermined. Some things are predictable after all.
