Sultan Erdogan cleans the decks.

Turkish newspapers describe the recent coup as a "godsend." It allows Erdogan to remove part of the military that is not personally loyal to him. Almost unnoticed is the arrest and dismissal of thousands of judges and prosecutors who did not take part in the coup.

Erdogan plays a dangerous game. He promotes the image of an Islamic Turkey and is purging the last vestiges of AtaTurk, who founded a modern State headed by a secular Turkish government. But, those who rise by the Islamists can also fall by the Islamists. Bleetings by Erdogan that he is protecting democracy are as truthful as Obama's claims that he is for racial harmony.

Meanwhile, Greek officials have detained the crew of a Turkish helicopter who landed in Greece to escape detention by the Erdogan regime. The crew is to be charged with illegal entry. This, coming from the officials who routinely allow hordes of Islamists to cross into Greece on their way to invade Western Europe.
